China’s First Reconditioning and Certification System for Used Commercial Vehicles Launched, Setting New Industry Benchmarks

In April 2025, Foton Motors, together with leading industry associations, officially released the Foton Brand Certified Used Vehicle Reconditioning Standard System—the first standardized framework in China dedicated to the reconditioning of used commercial vehicles. This milestone marks a significant step forward in elevating the quality, transparency, and global competitiveness of China’s commercial vehicle market.

The new system introduces a complete, end-to-end workflow covering vehicle intake, diagnostics, testing, reconditioning, certification, and post-sale service. It applies to all categories of commercial vehicles, including high-demand products such as semi-trailers, trucks, and specialized transport equipment. By establishing clear procedures and quality benchmarks, it ensures every certified unit meets strict reliability and safety standards.

To support this initiative, Foton Motors has also launched a state-of-the-art remanufacturing and resource recycling center. The center focuses on environmentally friendly processes, including core component reconditioning, parts recycling, and green manufacturing technologies, aligning closely with global sustainability trends.

Industry experts believe this system will not only strengthen customer trust in China’s used commercial vehicle sector but also enhance the international reputation of Chinese manufacturers. With standardized certification and remanufactured components, companies in the sector—especially those engaged in export—are better positioned to supply high-quality, dependable, and sustainably produced commercial vehicle solutions to global markets.
